New York is home to three baseball teams, the Mets, Yankees and the newest
team are the Brooklyn Cyclones. New York Yankees are the world champions and
the team everyone loves to hate. Tickets for games are pretty hard to come
by, but there are enough home games in a season so you may strike lucky with
a ticket for either Yankees or a Mets game. Ticket prices range from $8 to
$55, these can be bought from the stadium but you may be able to find the
odd ticket tout selling them for extortionate sums of money. Locals
sometimes get rid of their unwanted tickets on the Internet and you may even
be able to pick one up quite cheaply.
A good site for shopping for tickets is www.craigslist.com
The New York Yankees play at the Yankee Stadium in the South Bronx, which is
situated about 15 minutes away from Midtown. In 2000 the Mets played the
Yankees in the World Series, this is the highlight for any New York baseball
fan and was the first time the two teams had met in this competition since
1956. Games in the day start at 1pm while night games start at 7.30pm.
The New York Mets are a National League team, who play at the Shea Stadium,
Flushing Meadows in Queens.
The stadium is 40 minutes away from Midtown by subway.
The Brooklyn Cyclones are New York's newest baseball team playing in a brand
new stadium on Surf Avenue in Coney Island. Tickets for their games are $10
