Madison Square Garden is home to the NBA New York Nicks and the NHL New York
Rangers. The stadium has a seating capacity of 19000 and the season runs
from early autumn till summer. Many of the seats for all the games are
occupied by season ticket holders but visitors can buy tickets from Madison
Square Gardens, TicketMaster or from the many scalpers who loiter outside
the stadium on game nights. Scalpers are the equivalent of ticket touts in
the UK and will try to sell game tickets for a lot of money. The tactic when
buying from a scalper is to wait till the game has just started, the price
of the ticket will be drastically reduced and they will be desperate to get
rid of the tickets. Scalping is illegal business in New York so if you do
buy tickets this way, remember to check the tickets closely to avoid being
ripped off.

Basketball game, Madison Square Garden.
The Continental Airlines Arena in the Meadowlands Sports Complex is home for
two of New Jersey's big basketball teams - the New Jersey Nets and the New
Jersey Devils. These games are exciting to watch and tickets can be
purchased from TicketMaster. The journey to New Jersey is a bit of a trek
but worth it to experience the fun and excitement of a great live NBA game.
Public buses run from the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown or take the
NJ Turnpike to Meadowlands exit 16W.
There is also a womens basketball league - the WNBA. The New York Liberty
are one of the top teams to watch and they play at Madison Square Garden.
