hour touch-tone phone service offering help outside office hours. Other
sources of tourist information, including brochures and information kiosks
can be found at the walk-in office of the Times Square Visitors Information
Bureau.
Daily newspapers provide a wealth of information about events in New York
and museums and hotel lobbies provide racks with free literature.

The Times Square Visitors Center is a great resource for whats on and event
news. Situated between 46th and 47th Streets, offering free Internet access,
ATM, public bathrooms and a vast collection of literature. Tickets for
Broadway plays can be purchased from the Broadway Ticket Center inside.
New York State Travel Information Center at 810 Seventh Avenue has books
covering other upstate areas.
The Big Apple Greeters Program runs a voluntary hotline informing of special
events and other information. The program is run by over 500 volunteers,
offering free tours of lesser-known neighbourhoods. Some of the volunteers
speak several languages and will be able to help foreign tourists, while
others specialize in helping disabled people. Check the website for more
