There are dozens of tennis courts in New York, maintained by the Parks Department. There are 24 courts in Central Park, daily and summer passes are available. More ambitious players may want to visit the National Tennis Center in Queens -  Venue for the world famous US Open. There are numerous indoor and outdoor courts available for hire to the general public, but reservations must be made at least two days in advance.
